Positive Changes

I need to get my art supplies from my old apartment over here, should be able to soon, probably during the upcoming week.  It’s been awhile since I’ve drawn and I’m missing it.

Have a super busy week coming up.  Tons of things get done and many appointments. Hard to believe I’ve already been in my new place a week!  Times been flying by.   My sister is coming over for coffee and cheesecake tomorrow, looking forward to that.  I love my new place, I can’t say that enough, actually its an understatement, this place is so wonderful and so much better in many ways than my last apartment.  I feel so thankful to have gotten an apartment here.  It took a long time but the wait was definitely worth it.

Had a productive day, cleaning and grocery shopping.  Picked up some requests from the library.  I’m currently reading Electroboy: A Memoir of Mania by Andy Behrman.

As for my mental health, I’m doing great.  Every now and then I get some breakthrough symptoms but I  can deal with that and otherwise my meds are doing a great job at controlling my symptoms.  Hardly ever having hallucinations or paranoia now, and haven’t been manic since the spring.  I did have some depression following the mania but it’s gotten a lot better since my Wellbutrin was increased.  I’m sure being in a better environment is helping too.

My next blog post will be videogame related and then around the same time a food/cooking themed post as well.

Thanks for reading!

Moving and Other Stuff

Lots of stress going on lately.  Getting ready to hopefully move in mid February, I have all the documents needed for the new apartment complex so I just need to submit the ones I had been waiting on next week.

It’s very cold here, when I went out in the morning it was 9 degrees Fahrenheit.  My face froze and I felt like a had a brain freeze too!  It felt good to come back inside and have a hot cup of coffee.

Starting a 30 day challenge of eating no junk food, and praying the Rosary daily.  I’ll begin tomorrow.  Trying to implement some better habits into my life.  It’s going to be difficult, mainly the 30 days without junk food.  I will document it with blog posts.  I’m a major sugar addict.

Playing a lot of Stardew Valley and Pokemon Sword lately.

There’s so much to do in Stardew it’s amazing.  Saving up to get another building on my farm to store trunks in.  My character is married now, to Harvey.  Trying to become friends with the wizard so I can change my appearance.  Also working on getting the final house upgrade.  I’ve been getting most of my money from fishing, it’s just really relaxing.  I find I love fishing in many games, Animal Crossing, The Sims, other RPGs like Fantasy Life and Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons.

In Pokemon Sword I’m about to face the champion then after that I’ll work on completing my Pokedex and getting shinies.

Have so much to do in the next couple of weeks with packing and cleaning.  I’m donating a TON of books to make the move easier and keep my life a little simpler/less cluttered in the new place.  Just hanging onto a few favorite series, some of my Catholic books, and a couple autographed books.  Also got rid of tons and tons of stuff I no longer needed, just all kinds of random things.  Feels good, it will be a nice fresh start!

Nails and Decaf Coffee

DSCN1473.jpg

Did my nails tonight, I started doing them again recently.  I used to be into makeup and stuff like that but I got to the point where I didn’t really care about making myself look nice, partially due to mental health issues and also honestly laziness.  But I’m having fun getting back into this stuff 🙂

My interview at the apartment complex I’m trying to get into went well.  The apartments are absolutely gorgeous! I was amazed.  I’m hoping there’s an opening within the next month or so, or at the least sometime this summer.  They said there may be one opening in about 3 weeks, and there’s another possibility of another one becoming available soon.  Hopefully I hear something soon.

I did the unthinkable and bought a thing of decaf coffee.  While I’m typing this at 9pm I’m currently drinking a 12 oz regular caffeine content coffee, haha, so I’m not sure how this is going to go.  I just love the rush from caffeine.  I wanted the decaf so if I’m craving coffee I can just have one of those instead of drinking tons of regular coffee everyday.  My goal is to only have a regular coffee every once in awhile for a treat and stick to decaf for most of the time.  I already drink a lot of water, that’s basically all I drink aside from coffee which I generally drink black to keep from the additional calories from sugar and creamer.

I’m hoping to get a part time job this summer or at the latest in the fall.  I’m kind of waiting on hearing about the apartment availability thing though because I don’t want to add too much stress at once.  Ideally, I’d like to be moved in then work towards getting a part time job.  It may not work out that way but I’ll just have to see how things go.

Hope you all are doing well, thanks for reading!

Moving, Books, and Better Motivation

I might be moving this summer into a new apartment.  Have an interview and building tour this Friday at the place I applied to.  I’m very excited.  The thought of moving is stressful but it will be a nice fresh start.   It would be much better for me financially.  My only concern is getting the cats there, they allow cats but physically getting them there is the problem.  They won’t get in their crates,  and I honestly don’t blame them.  It was a total nightmare trying to move them across like 4 states several years ago in a car. I’m going to try and get them one of those nice travel things.  The good thing is the new place would only be like a 5 minute drive from where I currently live, so worst case scenario I would just have to put them on my lap in the car on the way there 2 trips at a time.

I’m a month into my eating disorder recovery, really proud of myself.  Never thought I’d make it this far after so many years of struggling.  My mood has been great, and I’ve been doing things I enjoy.  Reading a lot, drawing/coloring, playing games, learning Italian.  I’m wanting to cut back on caffeine, I had like 6 or 7 cups yesterday….I’m trying to cut back a little at a time.  Bought a Yoga/Pilates book and am definitely excited about trying out that.

Right now I’m reading a book by Debbie Macomber (one of her Christmas stories)  I always like reading holiday stories in the summer because I can’t stand the heat so I pretend it’s winter/Christmastime 🙂 The next book I plan on reading is Mother Teresa; A Complete Authorized Biography by Kathryn Spink.  🙂
